How to find IPO data in Bloomberg? ›

You can search Bloomberg to find details of individual IPOs or groups of IPOs. To find IPOS listed on a specific index (eg S&P 500, or UK AIM Index) between certain dates the best source to use is Bloomberg. Type 'IPO' where the flashing blue cursor appears in the Command bar. Do not hit return.

Click on the search box at the top left side of the homepage and start typing the company name or ticker symbol. Choose the appropriate company from the “Companies and Quotes” dropdown menu. This will bring you to the Stock Summary page. Recent stories about the company are listed in the Related News section.

There have been 6,160 IPOs between 2000 and 2024. The least was in 2009 with only 62. The full year 2021 was an all-time record with 1035 IPOs, beating the previous record of 480 in the year 2020.

Investors can do IPO allotment check by visiting the website of the registrar (i.e. Linkintime, Karvy) once the allotment is done. IPO Investors are also informed about the new IPO allotment status by BSE, NSE, CDSL, and NSDL through email and SMS.
