At Carleton University, we believe in building a vibrant local talent pipeline through our Co-op program and our involvement with the Hire Local Ottawa initiative, which is a collaboration between the four local post-secondary institutions and key partners to encourage employers in Ottawa to recruit from local universities and colleges. Our partnership with Hire Local offers employers a unique opportunity to connect with talented students and develop long-term relationships with future professionals. When you hire local, you’re not just recruiting students—you’re investing in our community. Employers have the opportunity to engage with our students on campus, attend networking events, conduct in-person info sessions, and actively participate in shaping the skills and careers of tomorrow's workforce. From resume writing and interviewing to communication and networking, your engagement helps mold Ottawa’s future leaders in a variety of industries. With over 200 degree programs, streams, or concentrations in our Co-op program, Carleton ensures that employers can find the skills and expertise they need to get the job done. Our continuous recruitment process means that you can hire students all year round, whether it's for 4, 8, 12, or even 16 months. Being part of the Carleton community means more than just hiring talent—it’s about becoming a mentor and contributing to a network that fosters growth and innovation in Ottawa. We’ve witnessed the incredible success and partnerships that emerge from hiring locally, and we’re excited to continue building these connections with you. Check out this 4-minute video with Travis Flieler, Carleton University Co-op Stakeholder Engagement Officer, and Heidi H., an HR leader in Ottawa, to learn more about Carleton's role in this initiative. #CarletonUniversity #HireLocalOttawa #HirePotential Kanata North Business Association | Erin Moretto | Noha Osman-Fahmi, PhD | Chantal Yelle | Matt Wheatley | Sophie Pomerleau | Sueling Ching | Sonya Shorey | Invest Ottawa | Ottawa Board of Trade | Kim van der Horst | Kim Perry | Katie LeBlanc (she/her) | City of Ottawa
